The Housing Resource Center at the Justice Center is dedicated to enhancing fairness in Housing Court and empowering Brooklyn residents. By connecting individuals to services that address the root causes of arrears and housing instability, they ensure access to affordable, healthy housing and work together to preserve our community. Services they provide are: Housing Court Navigation, Housing Applications, Rental Arrears Applications / HRA Services, Legal Service Referrals, NYCHA-Related Applications, Seasonal Tax Services, NYCHA Lease Renewal & Rent Payment Assistance. The Brooklyn Eviction Defense’s coalition includes the Southwest Brooklyn Tenant Union, which includes Red Hook. Each month, they host a meeting to support tenants on the last Wednesday of each month. Learn more here.
